I started my business Mollymoodesign as a way to keep part of me’ through the early baby days when life is a whirl of nappies and feeding.

Having always been extremely interested in crafting, an obsession that started when I was a child, it seemed the next natural step. With a grandmother and mother who are keen crafters, the bug rubbed off on me at a young age. My grandmother had dressers full of vintage material and I used to wrap her porcelain dolls in them as 'clothing'. I loved the different textures, colours and patterns of the material and even now, when I pass a garden full of lavender, I remember the beautiful scent of her fabrics.

My Grandmother taught me to knit from a young age and my Mother has always been a crafter, making rag dolls many years ago, and now beautiful cards.

I love all types of arts and crafts and am always looking out for new things to experiment with. Clay first featured in my work in 2008 and since then has become a regular fixture, in both my business and my home. I have created both traditional pieces and also contemporary and unique pieces showcasing the applique method of design. I am particularly proud of my handmade applique clay initial pendants, which always attract lots of positive attention.

I live with my husband and our two children in Worcestershire. My work has been featured in numerous magazines including Beads And Beyond and Craft Seller.
